It is about to get easier to visit Bonaire and St. Vincent and the Grenadines as JetBlue has announced new flights to those Caribbean islands. Meanwhile, this is the first airline to offer flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Argyle International (SVD) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from October 9. JetBlue’s new flights will be offered twice weekly, with JFK to SVD operating on Wednesdays and Sundays. Moreover, flights from JFK to BON will also operate twice weekly, but on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

David Jehn, Vice President of JetBlue said that the new St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Bonaire flights represent the company’s “strategy to serve underserved routes and our emphasis on adding flying into top leisure destinations.”

Extending its reach in the Caribbean

With the latest flights, JetBlue now operates in more than 25 countries in the Caribbean and Latin America. Meanwhile, earlier this month, Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International predicted the new flights when speaking at a travel advisor event at the new Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines resort.

Moreover, Carlos James, the Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation Sustainable Development and Culture of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, made a statement relating to the new flights.

The government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines are thrilled to welcome JetBlue to the place we call home. This new service offers convenience, comfort, and exceptional service to visitors to our diverse destination.

Meanwhile, Miles Mercera, CEO of Tourism Corporation Bonaire also celebrated the new flights, saying:

This is a milestone partnership for us — adding a new relationship with JetBlue and expanding the options and accessibility for travelers coming from the Northeast.

The addition to JetBlue’s repertoire of Caribbean routes gives a new audience of travelers the chance to visit with ease and explore the nature, culture and individuality of our beloved island.

The island of Bonaire forms part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. The country’s capital is Kralendijk, a city renowned for its Dutch colonial architecture. Meanwhile, the island hosts colorful flocks of flamingos that congregate over the salt flats and are one of the island’s many attractions.

Meanwhile, the tiny adjacent islet, Klein Bonaire (Little Bonaire), is uninhabited. However, it features beautiful white sand beaches and is popular with snorkelers and scuba divers.

Readers can find out more about JetBlue and the cities and countries it serves on the airline’s official website.
